I'm not sure Chili. I read that somewhere and it seemed to jive with my findings when trying to cram an Iwaver PCB in an SE. The Iwaver pot is 10k and the PCB would not work the steering with the stock SE pot. If the SE pot is 10k then the Iwaver board should just hook up no problem.
I know one version of the Iwaver/SE swap put a 10K resistor across two of the stock SE pot leads. Not sure why the builder would do this if the pot is 10K already. This wouldn't work for me at all. I had to custom fit the Iwaver pot to the SE steering servo to get the thing to work. Then, I had to replace the steering motor with a red one because the steering was to sluggish. After doing this, I mistakenly let the steering motor end cap touch the negative battery terminal in the chassis. Poof! Now I need a new Iwaver board.
If I'm wrong, maybe someone can tell us what the Iwaver steering pot is rated at.
EDIT: I just realized (from what I've read) there are two kinds of pot in the Iwaver PCB. A two wire pot and a three wire pot. I got the two wire pot version (which I think is the newer version) in an online tutorial I saw, the builder added that resistor. As I said, this didn't work at all for me. The discrepancy could come from having to wire a two wire pot on the Iwaver PCB to a three wire pot in the SE.
