Actually my chassis design has space on the right side and yes I'd be changing the direction of mechanical motion.
I like the use of the POTentiometer to return it back to center automatically and to give that slight feel of proportioned control.
I have seen some slide POTs on the net that are 17mm long x 5mm wide but I need to look into the ZZse's POTS values to see if I can find something that can match up to that.
(I know you know this chilli)The POT is just a variable resister but the values it returns is what the receiver uses to control the steering motor which controls steering so while I may find a POT that fits I may also have to alter the values and that may be worse than just using the stock POT.
I know of a local hobby/train shop that has the small screws/bolts/nuts and thats what I was thinking of using.I'd bet there are atleast 20 local hobby shops near me that have what I'd need.
I have considered using a bellcrank If needed.simple to make.
I'd prefer to use all the stock parts as much as possible.
I have also thought of a worm gear setup with the stock POT on one side of the worm gear and the other side used for the steering control. It should be small enough and it would definitely have to torque needed.
LOL if nothing else I guess I'm amusing.
