Hehe, those coil wires are a real PITA, to put it mildly <LOL>! I've swapped out PC boards on several of the original ZipZaps, and the only tips that I could give would be to use an extremely low wattage soldering iron, and ensure that you thoroughly tin the wires first before soldering the actual connection.
Either way, it's quite difficult (for someone like me who has big 'ole fat manly fingers <LOL>!), but do-able nonetheless -
