2 charges will only provide more run time on a single cell, not more voltage. the 4 AA cells are there because the transmitter has circuitry that requires more voltage. All you need to do is cut off the charge base(the thing your car clips to while charging) and buy a 4 AA cell holder from radioshack. hook them up with a switch so you can shut it off. now that this charger has no timer circuit, you will have to watch the batteries(charge for no more than 2-3 minutes) while they charge to make sure they don't blow up or melt(it does happen when overcharged!!!).
