Two 2/3AAA cell will end up being about 7/16" too long to fit in the stock AAA holder. Solution: modify the stock battery holder. There is room on the XMOD chassis for this type of configuration. Another option is to orient them vertically and stack them side-by-side. Solder them together the same way you solder a 1/10 scale RC saddle pack. Use battery bars to connect them. The height of the cells is ~ 3mm taller than the width of the stock battery holder. All you need at that point is some planning and a Dremel tool. Next thing you know you will be zipping around at 6 cell speed with only 54% of the battery weight compared to using a 6 cell AAA set-up. Now, again this comes at a cost of run time. Oh well, speed is the name of the game, right?
