and as far as the 180 motor i havent been able to find much info about this but it seems the team orion stock motor from the micro RS4 works really well if you reverse the wires since the the motor originaly runs in reverse from the XMOD cars is this true?

You can build a better motor than a hybrid, but a hybrid is cheap and easy to do. Basically you just improve the performance of a stage 1 or 2 motor.
If you want to build a nice 130 motor from scratch, get a ball-bearing can with thin Neodymium magnets (the Yeah Racing setup is perfect), and wind a 35-40 turn armature with 28Ga wire. If you are running stock FETs, you might want to stick with 30Ga wire, to keep the current draw at a safer level.
The Team Orion 180 motor is nice, though it lacks top-end speed stock. The torque makes for very strong acceleration, especially with AWD. Winding a custom 30 turn 180 is so far the fastest thing I've been able to come up with. Best of all, that motor is safe on the stock FETs.
