with just the 6 cell i was as excited as dr frankenstein
IT IS ALIVE!!
the difference is amazing. i wish losi had not even bothered with the 4batt aa pack it is useless. if the truck is not getting at least 7.2v it feels sluggish.
the monster motor doesnt seem to have much more top end with the stock pinion..but it has a lot of torque..able to mount the largest pinion in the 3pack for more topend or the smallest pinion to get insane acceleration off the line. thats how i usually goof of with it, with the small pinion. i am willing to bet there are better motors out there than the trinity but it is what was handy and my lhs did not want too much for it..if you get the trinity motor check the solder joint on the outside of the motor can. on mine the assembler did not sand off the paint before soldering..it came off in the tube..my lhs just resoldered it for me right on the spot..very nice of them as my soldering is only slightly better than whoever assembles xmods for ratshack.btw bc did you notice how small and self contained the electronics on the mini t are? it sure would be nice if someone could fit those goodies into an xmod..fully propo steering and speed, better range, and with the right batts a huge surge off the line..did i mention the combo reciever/esc unit books at $49.99? but i digress..the battpack is a must have the pinion set is very useful (part# losb 1069) the bearings are also a good idea (part#losb 1100) and the trinity monster motor seems ok. part# tri11990)
