Ok folks, slow down a little. How do you check to see if the motor is bad? Simple, connect it to a AA battery. I keep a 3 volt camera battery on hand for this.

Basically: Take the battery, set it on the desk with the positive end up. Place the motor on top. Now find something cunductive that you can connect the back of the battery with the back of the motor, i.e. wire, metal sisors (open them, you'll see). Don't worry, it wont shock you. It's too low of a voltage. Also, if you get it backwards, it will still work.

If the motor still doesn't work then toss it. If it does work then it probably means the pinion gear isn't connecting correctly with the middle gear on the bit. A common problem, especially with clones. You can fidle with motor placement, change pinion gears, or just check the gears to make sure nothing is clogging it.

Also, sometimes I take a small piece of tin foil and place it behind the motor, between the motor and the metal contact. Sometimes this helps. Don't let the tin touch the heat sink or any other metal besides the back of the motor and the metal pad that touches the back of the motor.

Good luck
