The Ka24 is a decent engine but can't handle the boost that SR20 can obviously, making the SR20DET pretty much godly in the world of 4 bangers. Usually when people refer to the S14 they refer to the JDM silvia. If you're getting a two-forty then just call it a two-forty. I know a guy who has a sweet 240SX with a pretty much complete conversion to a silvia, including the SR20DET. He puts down around 385hp and runs 11secs. I haven't seen his slip but that is what I have heard, he lives in Texas and only comes up for car shows. What I'd like to get my hands on is a one-eighty (S13) with a SR20DET blacktop..one can dream right?
http://www.wetdreamz.net/ go to members rides and he is labeled as 240.
And the guy who is called SR20DETT..You have to drop a T. The T designates "turbo" and even the twin turbo engines like the VG30DET (300ZX twin turbo V6) and RB26DET (Skyline TT Inline 6) don't get an extra T.
Just a little FYI for anybody who cares, the number in Nissan engine names is the displacement. (SR20 is a 2.0 liter engine, KA24 is a 2.4L engine).
