bcg 2.2s and bit racer 2.2s are made by the same company (TOMY) and are not different in any way except individual differences. All motors vary from one to the other. Some 2.2s run like a 2.7, while others run like a 1.7. It may not be particular to the company.
The 2-speed cars are notorious for killing motors. The problem is that at half speed the voltage is pulsed to the motor instead of one steady current. When you hit the boost button the voltage changes to a steady current, hence the increase in speed. This pulsing usually destroys a motor unless it's been made to deal with pulsing voltages. So, in other words TOMY is selling cars that destroy motors faster. You would think they would equip the 2-speed cars with motors that could handle the voltage pulsing. But, instead, all they did was take their most stable motor (the 2.2) and put that in the booster cars. The 2.2 will actually last alot longer in a booster car than a 2.6.
Although, if you really want to fix this problem, then you should buy a perfection 4.2 pro. It's the only motor I know of that was made to deal with the voltage pulsing. There may be others, but I'm not aware of them. The 4.2 pro is a very fast motor. I would recomend it to anybody. It's also the only thing I put in a 2-speed car.
