Turret Insides and Motor Behavior - Is this normal?

I found some old tamy grear grease, so i used that on my tank, to apply it i had to it apart of course, i also took a look into the turret and discovered that there is one blob covering two contacts, i wonder if this is normal.

Also, after gresing the gears, the two motors behave totally different, one runs really smooth, and one sounds just like before. One has less power on medium and low throttle and when goind backwards, but a higher maximum output, this makes it imposssible to trim the tank properly. Any ideas what could cause that, or what i could do to fix it?
