my micro rc cars

well it all started about 2 weeks ago when i was at radioshack and decided to buy a zipzap, since ive purchased around $1200 worth of micro rc products (mainly microsizers and zipzaps) and modding equip. i prob went a little overboard but its great fun to see how you can make them look and perform!

the cars in the pictures are a zipzap porsche w/ perfection 3.8 motor, dual 150 cells, 9.86:1 gears all around, slick tires in back treads in front, wing mounted on top, custom antenna on car and controller, stabalizers, lowered body, and carbon fiber hood. i also painted the lights blue, but will be putting white leds in the front maybe tonight.

the skyline is a microsizers skyline with 2.2 motor, dual 150 cells, stabalizers, upgraded antenna on controllerl and car, slick rear tires treaded fronts, zipzap wheels, 9.86:1 gears i dont drive this car much because it hesitates or stalls when you quickly change from reverse to forward or vice versa, any idea why? everything looks/seems ok.

the hummer h1 is a special edition digi completely stock except for a single 160 cell and i drilled a small hole in the front to stick the antenna into. i would like to raise it up a little so it can run better offroad but cant think of a way to do this. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. and now for the pics!

hmm i have the same hummer. those things are nice and fast. quality is pretty good too. u shoulda done an internal dual cell on that car tho it'd look a lot better.

Yea, that's what they are for. I made some before, but I didn't use wires, and didn't make them so hardcore long. Mine were little pieces of clear plastic, and they were about half an inch long.

also you can just pick up some bondo and make some side skirts that are wide enough to keep from flipping thats wut i did and im doing another bodie now and its drting as i type

Umm... I wish I could see your pics, but I'm on dial up connection and don't want to wait 5 minutes for you GIANT pics to load. LOL

Can ya post a smaller one for me?

xatu 03-30-2003 11:11 AM

Yea, I have DSL and those pics still took a while to load.

What are the NOS containers or batteries in the back for ? we are new to this hobby so dont flame me

bdebde 03-30-2003 01:38 PM

Make those pics smaller. And learn to drive, then you won't need the "training wheels".

Try different tires, this helps alot.

IHAD2HAVE: those aren't NOS tanks, those are second batteries for his cars. The NOS sticker is just for looks.

Where would we aquire them ?
Do they make the car faster or is it just to make it run longer

xatu 03-30-2003 01:48 PM

The second battery can be bought right here on this site, but I forget where I saw the NOS stickers for sale. The second cell CAN be made to make the car run longer, or give it more speed. Hooking the two batteries up in parallel gives it more runtime, and hooking it up in series gives it more speed.

bdebde,

That was a bit harsh. I wouldn't put those on my car either, but the whole "learn to drive" thing could run new guy's off. Play nice.

bdebde 03-30-2003 09:27 PM

OK, a little advice then. Try different tires, I like hard microsizer tires in the front on all my 2 cell cars. I like the the zip zap all season radials on the rear. Also try putting the second battery in the chassis. I have a two cell civic with 3.5 motor that does 7.5 miles per hour and very rarely flips on any surface. It will fry the tread right off the all season radials after a while though!

Just thought the "training wheels" looked pretty ugly.
