TinyRC.com stands behind every motor we sell. If you have a problem with a motor, email us at shop@tinyrc.com and we will issue you an RMA and return instructions. Please do not return motors without contacting us first.
Motors rated 3.0 and above are high-performance motors and as such should be treated with extra care. Just like real life motors, you can expect longer life from your low-performance street car motor than from your F1 or drag racing motor. The factories who produce our motors have the highest quality control standards, but it is still possible that one or two out of every few hundred may have defects which are not evident until the motor has some run time on it. Here's some tips to prolong the life of your motor:

• Always Break In Your Motor - Before letting that 3.8 rip on the track, run the car from full charge to depletion with the wheels off of the ground (e.g. the car upside-down).
• Repeat the Break-In Regularly - Repeat the above process on a regular basis to increase motor life.
• Choose the Right Motor for your Surface - Don't run 2.6 and above motors on carpet! High-performance motors require smooth, flat surfaces; rough terrain may bring your motor to an early demise.
• Engines and Charging Don't Mix! - Do not run your car while it is still charging - this sends more voltage to the motor than normal operation, which may burn out your motor.
• Extra Cells at Your Own Risk - Our high-performance motors are designed with stock car's limitations in mind - that means a single cell - use with multiple cells will decrease motor life.
• Overload - Don't try to push items or continue to push the throttle when you hit a wall - this can overload the motor and lead to failure.

If you stick by the above list, you should have no problems with your motor. Recently we've had a lot of motors returned that were functioning normally upon testing. Please be sure to try the break-in tips and ensure that you weren't doing any of the "don't"s before contacting us for a replacement.
