Fast< Easy<cheap Tracks

A fast and simple way to make tracks is find a huge cardboard, open floor, or plywood. Then instead of spending alot of money, time and effort on a track that ends up boring, crappy, or not right, just use pennys or something else that will work the same as cones and set them around the track and keep rearranging them till you find a track u really like. I am the type of person who likes constant change and this method works really well it is just not too pleasing to the eye, but I don't care cause the tracks I make are still hella fun!

DUDE!!!! i did the cardboard thing also :D...but it was mainly for my room so i could race in the middle of the night...or whtever
yup i found these big perfect boxes that didnt have folds in them..and had two...3x2' foot of flat space....it was perfect
i connected 2 of them with tape.....and then put tapes on the folds so that my car could make it over them easily :D

so in general..i have like 10 feet of space on the cardboard to race in my room ....

normally i would race in my backyard or in the driveway :D

I'm in the process of making an elaborate track on the cheap. I hit Lowes to see what kind of choices I had for surface. I found some particle-board for $11 for a 4x8 foot sheet that is 5/8" thick. It's very solid, thick, and smoother than all but the smoothest oak plywood. (which was $50 a sheet)

It may not be fast, but it's cheap and easy...like my sister. KIDDING!

huge track!

hey guys, I have a really hum dinger for you.

my friends and i are completely obcessed with bits and we dicided to make a very very complicated track. it was made up of 2, 10' by 4' tables that are put side by side, then an oval track was made with 4 corners, but here's the fun part, the surface of the track is made of plaster of paris. we managed to bank the corners and painted the top with chalk board paint. I don't have pics yet, but when i do i will post them

Sounds sweet, KOJ. Good idea on the Plaster of Paris.

Be sure to check out the "Tracks" forum near the BOTTOM (why?) of the forum list for more track ideas, and to share yours.

i got this cool oval set up that u made with some semi hard material stuff and movie casses as barriers. It was RAELLY easy to make and its cool for races. Only problem is is that its a bit to small for a high speed motor......gotta make it bigger.
