True 4wd 1:64 scale car...Kinda
Hey everybody,
I've done it, I created a 4wd mini r/c. No it's not a bit char-g entirely, but it is 1:64 scale. I ran into one problem. My steering magnet is not strong enough to turn the wheels on my set up. I have two questions for anyone who knows anything about the motor works pcb boards.(I'm using their steering set up also) 1. Would increasing the voltage allow the magnet with the wires going to it to be stronger?(I'm using rare earth magnets for the two magnets on the side) 2. How would you increase the voltage going to the magnet?(I have 2.4 going to it now and it is not strong enough. Could I replace the tiny wires with thicker ones or is there resisters on the pcb board that I would have to take out.) Also whatever Ideas you have, just remember I can't sacrafice voltage going to the motors because I'm running two and don't want it to be lower than what it already runs at. I tested my steering with 1.5v and it did nothing(running through the pcb board that is). I then tried 3v and it turned slightly, but not much ( again voltage going through pcb board). Someone please help. It's like 95% complete and if someone can help me with my steering problem i'll be glad to tell everyone how I actually created this monster. This is my only problem, everything else works. |
Could you post some pics. since I don't no but I'm working on a monster truck but it is only 2WD and I am not sure on my steering. But some else talked about motoriezed steering.

Sure, My magnets wires came out a short while ago and I can't strip them again. They are to freakin small. Do you know a good way to strip them. I don't have a camera, but my roomate has a web cam that is decent. I'm not sure how the pics will look though. The car might look really bad, but it will work as soon as I figure out how to make the steering magnet stronger so it can move the front end.

Try a dual or even triple cell mod. More voltage
|
it already has 2 batteries to provide the voltage for both of the motors
|
Try a dual AAA mod. That go fast & be good.

hmmmmm......well, my car only has room for 2 1/3 aaa batteries. There is absolutely no other room for anything else except for the wires running in the car. I went to test it sec. ago and I found I had a bad connection on my batteries because when I was charging it, it would run. Man did that thing scream at 6v. Then when I took it off the charger it would not run. So I'm in the process of fixing now. I take some pics while I still have it apart and post them tomorrow.
Anyone know a good way to strip the magnet wires? They came off. well at least I know it runs. Ahh...motorized steering....maybe that's what I need to turn my heavy front end. 2.4v pushing 3 motors though... That won't work will it? |
400 grit sandpaper or somthing really fine.... sometimes you can scratch the insulation off with an exacto. Post pics, this is not a competition, share the knowledge, its not like you are patenting it.

they will be up in like 5 minutes

My car is not totally put back together, but while I had it apart...I figured would be the best time to take pictures.
I'm still working on the body for decals, more painting, etc. Steering just needs to be fixed too. That's it though. Here they are: (I didn't have a camera so I couldn't post them, but I just bought a web cam today so now I can) http://maddog90008.tripod.com/side.jpg http://maddog90008.tripod.com/wheels.jpg http://maddog90008.tripod.com/outcar.jpg http://maddog90008.tripod.com/top.jpg There's one more pic on my web site, but it's nothing special. |
hmmm.....what did I do wrong....why don't they show up.
Well visit my site at http://maddog90008.tripod.com/mybitcharg.html to see them all |
