motors
I have a zipzaps, and I was wondering if the microsizers 3.8 motor would work with it?
|
Some one has probably already addressed this in another thread.
I haven't tried this, but the ZZ motor can looks to be longer than the that of the MS. So fit may be an issue. It may work though. If you have another MS motor, or a friend with one, I guess you could see if it work to determine if fit is an issue. Another consideration is that I've heard you should do a dual cell mod to run 3.0 and above in ZZs. |
next time try using search...
but for a quick answer, you cannot run anything above a 2.6 with a stock zip. To run any motor higher that 2.6 you will need a "no reverse mod" and/or dual battery mod. |
Yep, but it won't move:) Try combining a PCB mod, dual cell, and the green motor. It works quite well.
|
ok so, are there any aftermarket motors for a zipzaps? also, I don't like the idea of the dual cell mod.

Maybe Not For a While
Drift King Shop was offering the Supercharger (2.6) and Monkey (2.8) Rotors, which (supposedly) didn't require a dual cell mod. That said, it seems that they have been discontinued until he finds a new supplier (if he does). See this thread.
Otherwise, it seems that the only other option is a RS Turbo (2.15) or NOS (2.35). I bought the Performance Booster kit to get the Turbo motor and the extra gears. I'd have bought the TFNTF Street Tunner kit if they'd have had it. Unfortuneately, this still isn't insanely fast. Maybe RS will come out with some faster motor(s). Perhaps in gearing up for the upcoming TFNTF sequel. Does anyone know if the new PCB mentioned in this thread will handle more motor than a 2.6? |
I've heard that the new ZipZaps are faster and quicker than the original ones, and that the PCB is different. Has anyone tried a 3.0-3.8 motor in one of the new ones to see if they work now?
|
I ought my zipzap less than a week ago.
|
ok me and my friend returned and got new zip zaps and the 3.8 works in it but there also gold civic so i think it depends on when u got it. I also heard that the new ones have better PCB than the other ones I HEARD but i works in my's.
