Is it the thing on the steering?

I was also wondering, is there a battery to replace the NiHm(if thats what it has) that fits and doesn't need a controller mod?

u can get a 150 mah batt that u have to charge longer and will give u more play time. it is still 1.2v

it will increase runtime

The 150mah will only increase the run of the bat. The voltage is what will increase speed. Stock bats (100mah) and the 150mah are both 1.2volts. This is why people up there voltage with dual cell and triple cell mods.
