Sega Genesis Bit Mod!
I was looking at the joy stick contoller mod and noticed that the joy stick uses 9 wires. On my old Sega Genesis Super D Pad it also uses 9 wires. I was just wondering if someone could find out which wires run to which buttons and if it would be possible to solder the wires directly onto the Bit controller and use the Sega one. I was also thinking ,since I have a booster car, that you could use one of the buttons like x or something for the boost button. Just a crazy thought I had while looking at the plug for the sega controller because I noticed it had a 9 pin plug too.

You can use any D pad to control your car. Your controller has up, down, left, right inputs. Up can occur simulatneously with left or right, and down can occur simultaneously as a left or right turn.
Anyway, the D pad on a video game controller has the same number of potential positions as your regular bit controller. Using a button for boost would be an interesting add-on. To do this mod, you would need to find a controller large enough to hold the controller circuit board, and you'd need to do a lot of jumpering with wires to find out which inputs do what functions. With a soldering iron and an hour or two free, you should be able to do this without too much of a problem. Good luck :D |
but wont the controler need some power??
