OEM Bullet makes a lot of gear noise, can i grease it up???

My OEM bullet makes a lot of gear noise, i was wondering if greasing it up would help lessen the noise and add some lubrication??

Grease will help, but keep in mind...That grease is going to be a MAGNET for dust and hair and such.
