My wife used to work for a pager/celluar company that got bought out by Verizon, who then centralized customer service, and closed my wife's office.

That's that background, here's the kicker. I asked her if they used to have these microb motors around, since they did repairs, and she says, "Yeah, that bin in the closet was full of thousands of them. I threw them in the dumpster so I could bring the bin home."

Can you imagine watching over a thousand of these motors going in the trash. My wife did, and I'm not sure I forgive her. :p ;)

Actually, if it wasn't for cell phones and pagers - we probably wouldn't have our beloved micro RC cars! "Micro" coreless motor technology has been around for a while, but it took the mass production of pagers and cell phones (which use the motors for vibrating alerts) to make them cheap enough for our toys!
