im new to the hobby
i just ordered a modellist set, 3.5 motor and a 150 battery.
i was wondering what type of tires, gears and suspension i should use with that set up?

It all depends on what kind of racing your gonna be doing. Cuz if your racing on tight curves or long curves the tires r gonna be different, and if you got a small course or a big one with lots of straight aways different gear ratios would be needed.

KAIKS!! hey man, im a complete newbie too, and i just 3 days ago orderd the auto modellista set,3.8 motor 160AH battery, Reinforced Metal Heatsink,Gear Set GS-03 or something, Tire SEt 0-2 (i think) an NSX mobil 1 bodyand a race course(after alot of research on the net):D
just a 3 weeks delivery wait:mad: (i live in England and parts and accesories are pretty rare here and V.expensive)
meanwhile though, i got a cheapo version of Bit Char-g and took it a apart a little etc, and checked on various websites. Thats how i managed to find this webby and its wicked forum and stumbled in here.
i hope i too can learn more about bit char-g with ya'll and btw, i found a few decent webbys:

I got the race course as well, i found there aren't enough black hairpin markers. ah well, for £1.50 you can't complain

We got quite a bit in common! I two was into 1/10th scale ( i own a 1/10 scale Tamiya NSX and and year after i got that, i got into HPI and bought a slightly bigger than 1/10 super rally petrol r/c(Pennzoil Skyline).
I am a mad car fan and at the Motorshow at the NEC i found this company claiming to sell the "official" item, miniture r/c cars, striaght from Japan, which were then a new thing which i never really looked into.
Recently, only whilst browing through my Ps2 mag, i read an article about cool gadgets from japan, and it featured the Automodellista cars (a game which i am a MASSIVE fan of) in a "bit char-g set". Looking among UK websites, i was quite put off with the extortionate prices, and yea, especially at bit char-g.co.uk. However, 2 websites: www.toyeast.com and www.lik-sang.com found the best prices on the net and, reading around on forums like this one, i ordered the AM set and some accesories. (Depending on the how good the service at toy east is, im thinking of making a track with my friend: thus buying some more track parts and a lap counter and maybe even an LED upgrade for my car)
ETA on the parcel is in around 2 weeks time - heres hoping!

What a small world, I went to the NEC motorshow! Did you go in the live action arena? That was PHAT!!!
That was where I got my 2nd char-G (the senfa) that was probably the one you saw was there. There was a lot of clones for sale there as well. i went with my dad and my 1/10th racing mate, and we bought 3 Char-G's for £48! and I got a spare scoob shell there as well for £3

You can't wrong with toyeast. When I ordered my 4 special editions, it took only 9 days to arrive. And the worst thing, they arrived on a Tuesday, I was in Nottingham at the time! I couldn't drive 'em until Friday which was when I got back!
They are sound, plus, they gave me a free keyring to show their genorosity (i think thats how its spelt)

I was gonna buy a Tamiya NSX as a display car. At the moment I have 2x Associated TC3 (FT and team), HPI micro and a Kyosho V-one-S (nitro)

The next cars i'm gonna get are the Fairlady Z booster and the initial D set. I love to drift my nitro!
