NOISE! How can I stop it?

My rover is VERY LOUD so it's not a covert-ops tank. No lockerroom missions for me because I would be caught! How can I make it quiter. Would lube work? If so can you post a link to where I can buy it?

Anything would be helpful for me!

I lubed my first Rover and that was the down fall of that Rover#1. the worm gears started to slip on the shaft. So I had CA glue it on to keep it from slipping. So live with the noise tank are suppose to be loud:D

you could try putting somekind of packing in the empty parts of the rover that would keep the noise down.

The noise is really bugging me too, way too noisy for my liking.

I think the noisiest part of the tank will be in the motor housing, those motors look especially noisy to me too.
I'm thinking some kind of liquid product that I could inject around
the motors that sets to a solid foam would absorb the sound.

The problem would be if anything needed replacing, it'd mean cutting the sound proofing out with a carving knife but the benefit of a quieter DTR would outweigh that problem a million times.

Around the worm gear area I'd stick draught proofing tape OSLT to the walls to absorb the sound from those too.
If I'm right even a few small strips stuck in there will cut the noise down a little.

The only other solution I can find is finding quieter motors, a job I'm not prepared to take on.

what about sealent foam cover what you dont want the foam to get in to and spray away that should make it quiet and float if it ever needed to

Float??
LOL
That's an idea for a mod for DTR's an amphiDTR (amphidator).
The chunky tracks might be big enough to act as paddles already.

I've just ordered some PolyFoam - spray it and it expands, seals, insulates etc..
Also ordered some foam sticky backed pads for sticking around the gear housing section.

I'll let you know if it makes it any quieter.
Or how hard it is to remove all the foam if it doesn't work.
