what are rocket racers?

what are rocket racers?
how much are they??
are they proportional?

how fast are they compared the epoch or mini-z

irc 12-16-2002 12:21 AM

Rocket Racers are 1/24 scale ready to run cars. The price is $49 to $139 depending on where you buy them! They are fully proportional and you can upgrade them to race with any other 1/24 car. Faster than an epoch and close to a mini Z.

are they upgradeable with mini-z parts?
what is the controler range?

do mini-z bodys fit on it?

Scar 12-16-2002 09:38 AM

Controller range about 1 city block from the end of my street to the other end.. and I cant see the car that far off either...

Most of the MiniZ parts do not fit DRR's, but the bodys do.

Aktv parts fit including the bodies.

Where do you get these things for $50?

are they RTR?

Scar 12-16-2002 10:56 AM

ehobbies has them for 48$

Horizon hobbies has them for 59$

Yes they are rtr just install your AA batteries in the controler and then the 4 aaa in the car and your off!

rmyc 12-16-2002 11:56 PM

are rocket racers faster then palm runners??

how fast are the DRR?? mph?

how fast could you get it with a more powerful motor?

Scar 12-17-2002 08:54 AM

are rocket racers faster then palm runners?? YES

how fast are the DRR?? mph? About 5- 7mph stock Is a guess

how fast could you get it with a more powerful motor?

Faster then a 1st generation t-maxx... Roughly 20 or so mph. Maybe faster I have no real way of telling the speed till I get a officer in ny area to gun it for me.

Siress 12-17-2002 11:50 AM

with the setup I have right now I would guess around 30mph or so. Its too fast for me. It rivals my IWC Street Weapon with a 20-turn stinger motor but not my 9 turn double or cource.

rmyc 12-18-2002 12:21 AM

Siress, are you sure ~30mph? isn't that faster than the mini-z

what is the cost, and parts needed to supp it up to that speed?

Siress 12-18-2002 11:49 AM

LOW!

Get my setup plus 6cells at 700mah.
Micro RS4 motor
Ball bearings
Foam tires
soften the rear suspention up alot
(turn the piece the rear chassie screws into around and put it back on; lossen the spring up all the way)
11 tooth pinnion gear

Maybe more needed, I will get back when I have the time

Siress 12-20-2002 10:22 PM

I am sure you could break over 30mph with better electronics....;-)

Siress 12-20-2002 10:24 PM

oh about the elec.'s

Look and see if you can squeeze a Atom ESC and a XXXL Reciver in to one. I don't have access to either and I don't want to order them unless I know they fit, I am a very poor guy.
