Leds in the Car

Can you mod the Z-Car to somehow make the light come more out of the head lights and not the whole thing?

It should be pretty easy to use the stock LED's power to drive replacement front LEDs, yes.

well now that i have my Z-Car I know how it's put together. What I want to do now is make the light work on a seperate battery si my car lif is longer.

Big, why not do it like you said above?? if you wire both lights and then to the LCD single light connector, they would go on and off as you drive, which would make wickid headlights bro! Give it a go! Im going to try it out this week, ill let you know what happens :)

I went to the local radio shack to get two 3mm white leds. All they had were red ones, so I biught those and decide to make tail lights on my Z-car. The stock bulb zaps more power than two of the 3v leds. I also replaced the crappy wiring they use for the lights and soldered a thicker guage of wire so it won't break as easily. I was going to do this mod at first on my rally racer, but the battery I bought was too big and so was the switch than I wanted, so I figured that my Z-car would be the easiest.

After I got the wires soldered I covered the inside of my z-car body with electrical tape so the light would only glow throught the tail lights. I also fixed my broken steering knuckle with some crazy glue and did the Zip-Zap tire mod. While I was soldering I broke a steering wire, bit I just soldered it back together too. I just bought a soldering iron that day, so my welds are ugly, but they work.

I'l post pics later this week of my car with the ZZ tires, BCG clone body with universal adapter and working tail lights. I did notice a drain in the battery. I have to doubel charge it to get a normal run from it. I'll upgrade the battery after I add headlights.

Very simple to do once you use the diagram of how to solder the lights on toyeast.com.

All in all I paid about $3.00 to add new tail lights to my car.
