tire combos

what are some good tire combinations for a 2.6 motor and 8.25:1 gearing? I'm using stock tires right now, and I have heard that putting hard tires up front helps out with handling. Any suggestions?

welcome to the forum,

in my experience hard tires in the front do help, not big hard tires, just normal hard tires, with my zz wheel mod i discovered that tires with great friction(traction) on the front atcually hinder your steering ability. So for future reference never put tires with great traction(zz tires) on the front of your car. It is excellent for the back:D

With faster motor/gear combos, a harder front tire/softer stabilizer will widen out your turn a little and make it easier to steer. Softs in the back will also help keep you from spinning out. With anything but hards up front I get some mad oversteer. Unless I'm going for some crazy drift action or I'm tuning it down for some more control, I usually keep the hards on the front and softs on the back.
