Steering Control

In the June issue of RCCA one of the positive comments about the DTM SP was that of the 5 micro cars tested, it has the quickest acceleration off the line. The only negative comment was that there was no ability to dial out steering. Without this ability, controling the car in corners is difficult. 1) Does anyone know what they mean by dialing out steering?
2) What aspect or part of the DTM SP causes this problem? 3) How could the problem be corrected?

1) By dialing out steering that means that you "turn down" the steering or limit the travel. The function is called ATV (adjustable travel volume) or EPA (endpoint adjustment)

2) dunno
3) dont know

If you haev a mini-z then you would know that you control this right under the steering wheel....

I was also thinking that adjusting the steering rate with the transmitter would help solve the problem. Or getting a smoother
steering servo might help.

Bilbo,

You got it right!!

Yes you can dial out steering with most radios. The adjustable thumb wheel changes the max throw on most basic radios.

You can also change the pivot point on the servo arm to reduce or increase the proportion of steering throw in relation to the amount of transmitter input.
