question re: dual cat5 antenna
Dumb question...
Looking to do a dual CAT5 antenna mod to the PCB, but with two strands of wire, it won't fit through the hole on the PCB. Should I solder the second strand a little higher up the first strand, and then solder the first onto the PCB, or am I missing something? As an aside regarding this...would it be OK to take a single strand, double it over, and then twist it together and solder it on, or is that inviting signal cancellation? :o |
1 Attachment(s)
Well I took 2cat 5 wires and twisted them and then I took another 2 and twisted them. I took both of them and twisted the ends together and then solder it on. I went from 8 feet to about 18. I can use it as a weapon now two...I did some soldering and put points on them....deadly weapons......here kitty kitty....mooooaaahhhhhhhh....Later

Wow 4???
It looks good, and you get better receiving. Question remains, though...
Did you just solder it on without putting the strands through the hole on the PCB? I can't get two twisted together, let alone 4! |
On my Zip Zap and both of my Bits, i solder on conductor into the board and then one about .1" up from the PCB board. It seems to work great for me. I am getting about 20~30 feet inside.

Thanks, Bryan...
I will try that method. E |
