Bit Char G won't run

Hello all!!!
I just recently purchased the Castrol Nismo 35mhz model. After assembling the car I placed the vehicle on the charger as instructed. Once charged (or so I thought) the car wouldn't run. Has this happened to anyone here? If so what could be the problem.

Please keep in mind that I am very new to this and I may not understand certain abreviations and terminolgy, so I ask that any response not to be too technical.

Thanks again!
:D

Wings of Icarus, a few questions just to get the obvious things out of the way:
  • Is the LED lighting up while you charge?
  • Can you operate the car while it is on the charging bay?
  • Are the batteries you put in the controller brand new?

  • NO. The first time I switched the unit on one of the LED's just flickered for a second and that was it. While it was (supposedly) charging the light was not on. I have NOT had a steady red light.

They've been sitting around for a few months in their packaging, but this is the first time I've put them to use. So, no they're not newly purchased but this is their first use.

if the light doesnt come on when you are charging the car, it could be one of three things.

1. the batterries on the controller are dead.
2. there is something wrong with your car (ive heard this happend to some people). hope its easy to return and exchange.
3. the car is fully charged.

i hope its just the first one. change the battery to some fresh ones on the controller and hope that works.

good luck. you'll have tons of fun once u get it running.

Sorry, but that's not a possible explanation. The charger is a timed charger and it will charg your car multiple times in a row (until your battery explodes at least).

Anyway, remember to turn on the controller BEFORE putting the car on the charging base. It won't charge otherwise. Also, make sure the metal squares on the car are contacting the metal tabs on the charging base. If the LED does not light up, it's not charging. Beyond that, it sounds like a disconnected wire somewhere. It could be in the controller or the car.

So, how good are you with tools?

ok, but the only tools I have for some thing this small are tiny screw drivers.

Have you tried new batteries yet? This is the easiest and most likely fix.

NO, I will when I get home from work tonight though. I hope I figure this out soon because I only have 3 days left to return the car to the store for full credit or exchange.

Thanks for the suggestions though

I just bought my first Bit and the same exact thing happened to me. The LED did not come on when I tried to charge it. It turns out that the motor was not making contact with the metal plate thingie. I reassembled the motor the correct way, and it has worked perfectly since then.

stupid me

Well, it turns out the solution was to turn the controller on before putting the car on the charger.

HOLY CRAP, do these cars move fast!

Now, I hope that is the only problem I'll have for a while.

Thanks again guys for all of you help.
