snapped a gear that goes from front motor to fromt wheels
 

white plastic gear crack right in the middle..what is it??how much $$?also would a 7.2-9.6nihm 5 hour charger work ok,..i bought one but havent used it yetsee it here and let me know please!!this a good charger?

That gear breaks due to chassis flex while impacting something with the front end:D This is one part you should have spares of. I think they come in a package of 8.

I also did the same, however i am running it as a 2wd as of now (remove the white gear and the front differential). Let me tell you 2wd on these is not nearly as fun and controllable as 4wd on them.

By the way, according to rc-xpress the 2wd motor is the same as the 4wd motor, minus the long shaft.

Also I am working on making a "crash" bumper so this happens less in the future running.

Waiting for tinyrc to get the basic kit back up then i'm gonna do another massive order.

catman25, don't worry, we have replacement gears, as irc mentioned they come in packs of 8! binaryterror, once again I apologize, I'll do my best to prioritize the X database update! :)

Here is what i came up with. It doesn;t add alot of help, but i think it should help just a bit.

I have been running no body since I got it, except last night. These things are really quiet with the bodies on, running on carpet.

Heres the top it mounts using the body posts for the top and bottom.

One of head on to show the front screws for the body posts still function.

Yes, a front foam bumper works great. I cracked two gears and then ordered replacements. While waiting on them I rigged up a foam bumper. Now I have 20+ spare gears - but with the bumper they don't break! It will also save the front of the lexan bodies above the wheels from flexing and cracking.

running it rear wheel drive right now! and getting alot of grindage??i think its slipping ..how to tighten the rear diff??and when do you know its ok ??how do you set it ???thanks ..and please hurry with a response..i just made a 6cell pack outa energizers..omg!!!

I couldn't find any directions anywhere, so I guess you'll have to dig in and learn like the rest of us. I had the diffs out at least six times to adjust them. In general I think looser-but-not-slipping is best. But then again it depends on the surface you race on. Just experiment!

By the way, you might be disappointed with the alkalines - they don't put out the current that the NiMH packs do.

yeah the alk. do suck. i just bought 12 aaa nimh 700mah for 12.00 so ill be making my own packs.they should work just as well as the ready made ones right ??cant wait for my ebay auction to end so i can do more spending :-)

I need someone to give me pointers on soldering bateery packs...i found a nice deal of PowerMax 750mah AAA's for about $1.50 each.

Any help?

i just ude the hottest tip i can get and it seems to just stick fine for me ..i also use very fine bearing soldier .if that helps:-)
