Whoa!!!
 

Ok, so after hearing about pros and cons of several of the knock-offs available, I picked up a bullet clone at a Kiosk in the mall. This week, they happened to have the Panthers!!!!

Mattydiah - did you ever get yours from ebay? And your opinion?

I say - whoa! this thing flys right out of the package! And then the second time I ran it, I did the double charge - and it ran easily for 10-12 minutes!! Handling was a little touch and go. It turns all right, but it tends to spin doughnuts (at least on my linolium kitchen floor). Did i mention it was fast???!!? It is of the 27 mHz variety, and no problems there....good range as well. I'd say these Panther cars are a good bet! Now, i'll have to see how transplanting the moter into my PT Bruiser ZipZap works!

If you zip is the same freq. then test the zip controller and see if it works (may need to adjust the pot) If alls good swap the PCB.

Yup, I got my Panther on Friday. It is pretty quick, although I didnt get much time to play with it. I tried the Panther motor in my Zip and it was pretty slow. I think a Zip would need a dual battery or a PCB workover to get the Panther motor running. However, the yellow NOS motor works quite well in the Panther.

You are right, the steering is kind funky, but its not bad, and I think it could be made better with a little work. the bodys are really nice. I got a grey Mercedes CL-something and it came with a bunch of little stickers already on the body! Very nice looking! I also got the 27 MHZ version, and it has ok range, not too bad, but not too good. My 49MHZ Zip can probably go twice as far as the Panther before it starts to stutter.

Overall, the Panther is a nice car, it seems fairly well built, and its pretty quick. It wont be outhandling a Zip in the twisties any time soon, however.

i havnt figured out the range of my 49mhz thor bullet. seriously i work in a huge room and was at one end and the car was at the other. probably 100feet give or take and it worked like a charm. this is with a lot of computer monitors and lights.

I got two of those panther clones 2 days ago from ebay and Im damn impressed...for a clone these cars fly fast and do crazy doughnuts..I've easily gotten more than 10 mins of runtime on one one charge..I bought a celica and s2000...Pretty good quality for the price:D

Motor Works
 

Just stopped at wally-world and low and behold they had 6 motor-works cars. Paid $13.88 + tax. Man that little sucker is fast have to play with a bit more to see what it can really do though (Not enough running room) But for now Im impressed

I just took the battery out of my Panther, cut the rear window out and ran some wires from the charging terminals to the battery and set the battery where the window used to be.

Now since there is more weight over the rear axle, it handles better, and on two charges with my ZZ NOS motor, it can run for a good 10 minutes and its damn quick too.

Can ya post a pic or two of that? I never thought of shifting the weight distribution on the Panther. Are you gonna put NOS stickers on the battery or something? Aesthetically, that has to look odd.....

I think you've solved my handling problems for my panther...but can you post pics or instructions on how you did it..Also, can I put a small weight in the back near the motor instead of moving the battery around?? Good Job on the find
