Booster Question

I went to my local hobby store last night and the guy behind the counter was going thru a shippment he got from Japan. In the bottom of the box was one 27mhz controller, no car, just the controller. He was going to throw it away, but instead he gave it to me.

So now i have a working controller, but no car. My question is, I just ordered a 27mhz booster set, will this work with the standard controller, or do I have to buy the 4 band? The kit comes witha 2.2, I was going to use my 3.0 I have left over, can I do that?

thanks,
mini

impossiable.....but I do believe....that should not happen

if i leave my 4 band controller in regular mode(A) it won't control the booster machines

Ditto.

I just tested this out and a booster controler will not run a non-booster car, also a non-booster controler will not run a booster car. It seems that you can run 2 cars on the same freq without any issues.

So you could run 6 regular cars and 4 booster cars at the same time?

LOL....thought the same thing when I first got my booster....but here is what happens.....If your friend is running 27 regular bit and is plying with it....and then you come on and try your 27booster bit..useing your booster controller of course....the normal bit will just stop working until no actions are made on the booster controller....

Hope this helps

Darn!
That would have given me a great reason to buy the four booster car set at cosmogames.

Thanks for the clarification.

Seriously, I kid you not. :) I have gotten the Skyline booster set to work with my 45mhz controller.. I dunno why, but it did work. That's what I was using at the race on saturday a couple weeks back.. I had to buy the booster because my car died. At the time I didn't even know there was an issue with the boosters on regular controllers.

very intresting my dear watson......you may have an older gen car or remote....

NorCalCoug 10-27-2002 12:56 AM

The booster was a new booster (bought it that day) but the remote is the older blue/silver 45mhz remote... Dunno if that makes a diff or not.
