More Styles Available
 

I just got off the phone with Aluma-Tech. We will be adding 4 or 5 new wheel styles to their web page. This should bring the total to 9 different styles. The new styles are already manufactured and will be available for immediate purchase online. They will also be adding 17f and 18r to the line in the near future.

I'll be getting the first 17F's! Any idea what the other styles are?

There are (8) different style aluminum wheels for the dNaNo. I am in the process of incorporating a PDF file on their web page showing the solidworks drawings and the style reference number for each wheel.

I don't see the different styles? I see what look's like the same Centerlines and 5-spoke's.

what marc is trying to say is the styles are not distinctly different.

i've had been discussing styles with aluma-tech and showing cadd models. i am certain they will have some nice styles coming. it all is dependant on what they can achieve in milling at these tiny dimensions.

Thank's arch, that is exactly what I was referring too. I'd love to see some BBS-mesh style wheels like what Square made, but I do realize it might be tough at this scale. The little thin wires from the mesh might be too thin and fragile. Not sure how one could replicate that style at this scale.


Let's see some more options! I'd also like to see some wider wheels for the rear of some of these cars. Example, the Lambo's and Enzo's certainly need wider wheels. But only if PN could make tires to suit.

your not going to get wide wheels/tires so you would spend you time more effeciently requesting added offset to wheel to push them farther out.
i've discussed this with aluma-tech in detail as well.

I'm looking forward to seeing what more wheels Aluma-tech will produce. They told me that they can do custom color anodizing, but it would cost more. They seem to be very flexible with most requests. If you have any CAD drawings of wheels, I'm sure they'll look into making them.

please be conscious of where your posting. while the content is valid, context is everything. it's not exactly respectful to come to aluma-techs vendor forum discussing attempts to get other manufacturers involved to make the same product.
there are plenty of existing threads in appropriate places to discuss your request to others. :) please treat vendor forums with an appropriate level of decorum as they are here of thier free will, donating their time to our forum. they certainly don't have to although i do my best to have them actively participate. :p

Hey Arch, its been a while, I need to PM you when I get a chance. As far as pushing the wheels out, why not just change the rear hubs? At $2.50 at set it is inexspensive and gives you more flexabilty with your inventory of wheels. As far as the fronts go you can change the the plates and tierods. This would also reduce the fore and aft roll when the wheel is turned L/R that can lead to the tire scaping the fenderwell. I really liked some of your wheel designs you shared a while back, I hope they can get made.

Somehow pushing the wheels out is not quite the same thing as wider wheels. I was looking at wider wheels more for appearance and more grip than anything else. The Countach and Enzo are two such cars that I think could really benefit with wider rear wheels.
As for changing hub's and front pieces, I plan on doing that some day when I get my Renault R5 Turbo model kit as I think it'll require wide rears and short fronts.

pushing the wheels out for appearance is absolutely easier to do via offset of wheel hubs than making wider wheels requiring wider tires. it gives you the effect your looking for without the need to create a product with limited need and use.
