Post your best lap time for 3P Infield Circuit...

Hey guys...The fastest lap times posted on www.racednano.com are kind of bogus. I don't know what is up with the majority of the top 25 fastest times all being listed as 0.80. So I thought it would be a good idea to start up a thread for us to post up our ACTUAL fastest lap times to see what is really being thrown down...

Thanks arch2b!!!

So post up your best lap time and any additional info that you think would be helpful to others running on the same layout.

My fastest lap so far is a 4.72.

Thats running the stock motor and standard 6 tooth pinion with 40's on the front and 20's on the rear...

Anybody else???

Clockwise or Counter-Clockwise

I was just watching a video of the 3P infield circuit in the Virginia Beach HT and they were running in the opposite direction to what we have been running on the Mooresville track. What is Kyosho's intended direction for this circuit? I guess we can only compare times if we state the direction run...

Good question...Waiting to find out too...I saw a quick video from RCX 2009 and they were running the same direction that we were???

I ran some laps today in both the clockwise and counter-clockwise direction...I didn't think there would be that much of a difference - boy was I wrong - I was noticeably smoother/faster in the counter-clockwise direction for some reason...I guess I will have to find some more time to go back and practice up on my clockwise laps...

Still using the stock motor and the standard 6 tooth pinion I couldn't really improve on my previous time - especially in the clockwise direction - I think I had a couple of mid 4.6's, but that's about it...

Anybody else out there...???

In the few laps I did with the store demo Subaru on Saturday I got a 5.1 in the ccw direction. The car is really bouncing though... a lower, wider car would be better. It has an X-Speed motor which makes the power delivery a bit abrupt. The stock motor would probably turn faster, consistent laps on this small track.

I managed a 4.58 with my Enzo, Joe E did a 4.49 with his McLaren. My Enzo was a bit better than the store Subie demo, less chassis roll and chatter. Throttle transitions were smoother with the stock motor versus the X-Speed.

I stayed after the race today and ran another charge of the battery through my dNaNo...I looked through all of my laps and seems like my best clean laps were mid 4's to low 5's...

Pedro - I tried the Gold Springs on the front - seemed a little bit better - the front feels good - just need to figure out how to get rid of that horrible hopping in the rear...it seemed a little bit better with the stock t-plate than the soft carbon one, but still a little hoppy...

I need to get my bearings put in, and look into getting the ball diff...

I think the bearings free-ed up my car in the corners. I have rear hop too, need to work on a disc damper, the Z does the same thing with no T-plate damping. My car felt more responsive with the FRA 50 options with the gold springs than with the FA 50 stock tires with the silver springs. The 40s were too much...

Can't say whether the ball diff was better than the stock diff since I didn't run it but my experience with the larger MiniZs forced me to just fit it and run it. The gear diff felt a bit "graunchy" anyway.

When I meet you guys at one of these race days, you'll have to try the atomic h-plates. They almost completely solved my rear chatter problem on a very similar surface. I've also got some tires we can try.

I was actually about to order a set of them, I like the profile better than the K ones but I am sure they are fiberglass, how is the memory, do they return to center? Do you have the Atomic tires?

I haven't had any problems with them returning to center. They seem to run fine. Yes, I have a few sets of atomic tires.

Managed a some 4.2s with a best of 4.21.

Jellis 08-07-2009 10:12 PM

OMG 4.07 I almost wouldnt believe it myself if I didn't back it up with a couple 4.12's and a bunch between that and 4.20

Mark said he didn't think we would ever get into the 3's but I guess it's just a matter of time

I can say without a doubt it is clockwise like majority of races in the US. This track was developed and designed here in California by Kyosho America. They are manufactured here as well.
