a is it posible to make turbo this way?
can i make turbo my taking a AA battery and wiring it onto the wires that a sadered onto the motor? wil this give it what it needs to go faster or will it burn the motor up?

This will not work. You will be directly putting a voltage across the motor which will drive it directly without any control from the conroller.
The easiest way to boost your power is to wire another AAA in a battery holder in series with rest of them. |

two questions to Jazz32...
First... you can do this with just extra wires laying around the house? if so, what guage do you recomend?... (i have miles of wire around my house) Second... is this the 5 and 6 battery conversion they are talking about, or is that a marketed thing that you can buy with a holder and all the like? ...thankz in advance Jazz32 |
to everyone...My idea was to get like some wire and regular size should do. Then take off the battery cover and tape some wire on to the AAA size batteryboth sides then bend the wire onto the spring part of were you took the battery out.then put the other end and put it onto the other side and to get it to stay in place put your battery you took out in and place it over top of the wire. Now would this wourk? (oh and i bet your all sayin im going to use a AA but come to find out they are the same voltage but are just more wieght) someone try it different ways and let me know

@drewdown This is the 5 and 6 cell conversion they talk about. Any places selling them are just selling you a cheap battery holder and some directions. As for the gauge, anything bigger than 22awg, I think, would be fine.
@xmodrz I'm sorry, but I couldn't follow what you were saying. The gen1 cars are really easy to splice in some more batteries. There is a wire that runs between the two battery holders. Just cut the wire and wire in the battery holder making sure every + goes to a -. With the EVO, I find it best to unsolder the black wire on tope of the pcb coming from the batteries and use that wire to connect to a battery holder. Then resolder the other battery holder wire back to the pcb. |
so for the extra batteries... we are putting them in parallel or series...
series would be adding up the voltage... so you'd be putting more voltage thru the board and the motor... parallel would be increasing the longevity?... im not understanding the extra cells in the system completely... sorry about my moment of stupidity... but i wanna be sure i completely understand before i go hacking up my xmods... |
You're placing the extra batteries in series. Stock pcb's for the gen1 and evo will handle 6 cells provided you don't use a really "hot" motor. I have personally made several 6 cell cars of both generations using stage 2 motors without a problem.
