Xmod won't work

I just got a Firebird Xmod. I put it together and it worked fine. A few weeks later, I bought the light module, and installed it. The lights work fine, and when I turn the wheel on the remote, the wheels turn, but I can't get the car to go anymore. I changed the batteries on both the car and remote, but that didn't help. I'm not sure what to try next. I removed the light module, but the car still doesn't go. Anything I should be looking at? Thanks for the help.

Don't listen to this, at least not initially.

First of all, it is highly, HIGHLY, unlikely that a stock xmod will fry any FETs. I would presume that one of your motor wires is not secured against the board. Make sure your motor wires are hooked up properly and that they aren't broken off of the motor.

If you have a voltmeter or another motor, see if the motor connection pads on the chasis of the car is trying to send power to the motor. It should read around 4.8V with the trigger pulled.

Jazz,

Thanks. It was a loose connector. It looks like the screw on the red lead doesn't tighten all the way. I may bring it back to RS because of it. Thanks again for the heads up

Don't take it back for that.... most radioshacks throw returns into the garbage. Use an extra screw from the body or somewhere else that is a little shorter. There are lots of screws on the car that I would not deem necessary. You could find a washer or something else. It just seems like such a waste to return a perfectly working car. I might cry.
