range problem
 

ive been havin trouble with my xmod. itll only work from about 5 feet away. i think i fried it cuz i was workin on it and the antenna touched the battery an smoked started comin out of the circuit board area(yes i realize i should have taken the batteries out while working on it). i was wonderin if this can be fixed...?

no, buy a new one.

you could order inductors and repair your range.... you should do a search ... people would go crazy on double triple heck alot of people talked bout this already

instead of repairing the inductors what if you increase your range

i also found a range repair kit for gen 1's though i was wondering if you could use it for the evolutions also

The inductors should be the same for both.

As for the "nope buy a new one" comment, that just goes to show you the spoiled only child mentality (not saying he is a spoiled only child). That thought process has always frustrated me.

The guy i live with grew up in a higher class suburb and he thinks that way. The window in his car was broken so he was going to take it in to get fixed. I asked if he looked to see what was wrong with it and he had not looked at anything.

The metal line that pulls the window came off a pulley. I took the door apart and showed him how easy things can be done.

but what if i just increased the range by increassing the size of my antenna wouldnt everything just get back to normal

alright something weird just happened

k so i was all pissed off about my range being messed up and i see my friends broken xmod and im like HMM y dont i use his crystal i did and it worked slightly better like so slight that its bearly noticeable but newayz i took it outside took it for a spin and it all of a sudden stops no sputtering just straight stops so im like SH1T AHHHHHHHHHHHHH and i figured that if i turn off my controller and turn it back on it fixes the problem. did this a couple of times and just let my wheels spin in place and all of a sudden no more range problems

p.s. also is there a way to make your range longer
