craptastic battery replacement?
 

I just dug up my old ZZSE, unfortunately gen1 and showing its age. Back in the day I had done the wire move on the pot so it does ok now, but the battery has seen far better days. I get maybe 30 seconds of runtime now.

I have 2 questions:

1. Could I replace the 2cell 70mAh batt with one of these:

those cells are 24x19x4mm vs. the 20x10mm or so of the stock ZZSE battery. I'm sure I could make it fit. I have a charger so thats no problem either. I don't really care about speed, but driving for 30 sec at a time just isn't fun :\

2. Could I possibly recondition the cell using my triton charger to cycle the battery? Suggested settings?

EDIT: I noticed that the car dies when the voltage is still around 2.4V, is that normal? Thats the nominal voltage of the battery so I don't think it should be dying that early.
