how do i lock the diff on m/t

i just bought one of the monster trucks and was wondering how do i get to the center diff to add superglue? also how hard would it be to extend the wheelbase to accept 1/24 scale truck bodies, i was thinking of cutting the main chassis right behind the center diff and extending the rear driveshaft and driveshaft tube.

o.k. i figured out how to get to the diff to lock it, and damn what an improvement that made. now this little truck rocks! i think i'll leave this one stock and buy another one to try and stretch for a 1/24 scale truck body.

i figured out how to do it, i found out that most people take that differential out and take it apart and put some super glue in it, but i took everything out except for the two washers that were in there, i placed some small washers in there and super glued each one together then to the inside of the differential. the washers i used are from radio shack, the catalog # is 64-3022. i put in as many as i could and still be able to fit in the spring. hope it helps.

Locking the SSMT143 main gear is much easier than its been made out to be. There is no need to dismantle it and replace the springs ect with washers unless you want to be able to unlock it again. I don't know anyone whao has wanted to do that.

So just take it out and drip some CA in the 4 holes around the centre hole from both sides. I have 2 out of 4 locked that way.

On the next one I'm not even going to take the gear out I'm just going to jam tooth picks in the 4 holes and break them off in the gear to see if that works. No reason why it shouldn't.
