HammerZ 01-21-2005 04:08 PM

I just came from over there and saw one thread harping about Mini Z's being posted on the rate a mod section. Did you have any questionable graphics? or anything of that nature?

Nitrous does NOT make flames come out of your exaust, all nitrous does is cool the air down dramatically as it enters the engine, this makes more power as it is cooler, the smoke is actually the nitrous vapors that would cause your engine to explode if they were to enter it such as at idle

RacinSkillZ101 01-24-2005 10:26 PM

yes mastermite i know...

if you read my email it implying that i want my car examined by some1 who actually knows what nitrous dose...

(time to show off) nitrous or No2 is an oxygenator which means it adds o2 or oxygen to ur engine. with more oxygen available, the correct amount of fuel is added for a larger reaction in which causes a bigger combustion or boom and thus more power. the result is left over nitrogen vapors (the fumes u mentioned) and are highly flamable, which is why putting a spark plug on the tip of a exhaust system w/o a cat will cause flames (the cat would absorb the flamable chemicles.. its is what it dose to protect our enviorment {im not a tree hugger btw})

the reason u see amatures blowing their engine is cause they add too much No2 and it causes knocking (too much air/ not enough fuel, in which the explosion is too hot and melts ur pistons ect.) or they add to much No2 and fuel and the explosion is too much for the engine, like runnin a turbo w/ 35lbs of boost on a stock engine.. somethings gunna give

also activating No2 too early is bad, which is why u blow ur engine at idle or at any rpm below 4000 (not sure on actual rpm) that is cause the power generated is pushin parts to go faster but they dont wanna, and thus they break.. but like mastermite said the left over nitrogen vapors are to blame, even the great 2JZGTE died on a dyno when it was sprayed at 3500rpm.. if he only placed a rpm safety

so thats nitrous 101...
-sorry for ranting but some1s gotta clear it up sooner or later
