drift techniques
ive heard many different teqniques about drifting , and diff setups ect , so i thaught i would start a thread about it ,
everyone can post there fav drift setups and teqniques here and also discuss any aspect of drifting with xmods , my setup : skline, rechargeable 650mah AAA soft slicks ( glued ) stage 2 drift motor lights ( dont make a diff lol ) my tech , i need a new one lol , a good freind son goku taught me a good one but this is my personal one, aproach at 3/4 speed turn opposite way you want to drift then turn back shrply to the right way and increase throttle , you may have to steer opposite again to control this understeer , well it kinda works for me but i have a new one to practice , cheers , mrcg |

This may not work at first...it requires practice, so don't expect to get it right on the first time, but you could get a bit close. Just practice making use of the throttle to break and regain grip, you don't have to rely on steering alone. In fact, use a technique called "throttle steering", where you make minimal use of the steering, but more use of the break in traction in the rear wheels to steer the car properly. It's a bit confusing to explain with words, so here's an example of throttle steering: http://www.kteamtrivia.co.uk/Motorsp...os/videos.html Scroll down to the second vid, and when you're watching that video, watch carefully where it says "in case you missed it, here it is again in slow motion". Notice how that car's front wheels are pointed straight almost all the time during the drift. The car using throttle steer is an FR (front engine, rear wheel drive, for those who don't know) layout.... For all of you who really don't care about drifting, you're probably thinking "MAKE IT STOP!!!!" Well...I'm done now. Chuckster... |
i have posted before
there are a lot of drift techniques the one that almost always works is what charliebrown posted i dont throw myself in and out tho i just approach the turn at full speed then let go of the throttle half way turn into the corner and gun to spin the tires then as u want to stop drifting let go of the throttle a little and the tires will regain grip on the surface.... remember drifting is all about not losing speed so try to stop yourself from using the brakes its a habit that i develpoed wen i was learning how to drift
