Table Top Semi Truck

I have seen a few on the internet, but I want to know how I can make a radio controlled semi truck, capable of hauling trailers and such. How do you put all that in such a small cab? I suspect the easiest way would be to use an IR controller.

I have one.. it's from Keyence... most of the electronics are in the trailer... very realistic movements...pretty awesome little truck though expensive

but here are some alternatives as well

Hi Truckian,

just take a look at the "slow flyer" scene. There are a lot of small components availible so you can buld your truck.

Or try out www.mikromodell.de (a small english version and a large german site, I am still busy in translating ;-) )
I hope youll find some hints there

What special kind of SemiTruck is your favorite?

best regards

Thorsten

I think I like a Peterbilt 379 with a flatbed trailer. Maybe a small crane behind the cab. But that would be a little difficult. So just a Peterbilt 379 I guess. That way I could just have multiple trailers.

*edit* also, where can I find the "slow flyer" scene?

PETERBUILT ROCKS! ok just thought i would toss that in here.

also since you are in the US you might be interested in this. There were some hotwheels toys that came out a couple of years ago. They were cars that you could charge in like 30 seconds that had no steering the just went in a stright line. If you can find one or have one you can cut it open and it has a rear assembly that would probably work good for what your doing. Also the motor is only like 5 mm thick and its flat so you could save some room by using it.
