*Sigh*...I've done it again, pure addiction...

Welp, in walking the aisles today at the local Meijers, I was dumbfounded to see the Micosizers. Not only did they have a ton of them, they only wanted $24 for 'em! I told my self I would only get one if they had the s2000...well of course they had it. :D

I have to say, I am VERY disappointed in the Microsizer. I have never been a fan of the bodies as they are very unproportional in my opinion, but I was willing to sacrafice looks for speed, and handling.

Well, speed it does have, handling it does not. Steering on these cars is WAY too tight, and DANG that controller sucks for the Microsizer. After my mods to the ZZ controllers, those are by far much better. I am also disappointed in the almost halved run time of the cars. Welp, here is a pic or 2

Get the tire upgrade kit. IT was $6 for me and it's worth it for the "Soft Block tread" tires alone. They don't oversteer as bad. Also try putting some zip zaps tires on the back.

All the tires in the microsizers set are way too hard for anything i race on!
i tend to stick to the originals or the colored ones for the bir char-g

I used all season ZZ tires on the back of my MS, and Block Tread on the front. works well.

Yeah....

...I've got the tire kit. I actually bought one last week for my zips. Will have to try that! Thanks!

Still, I really dislike the controller....

I modded my 27 MHz MS to work with my 27 MHz ZZ controller. See my post (Project Micro-Zap). it might be on page 2 by now.

I picked up a Micro on eBay as well, and it just arrived yesterday. The only space I have to run my cars around is in the kitchen on the lineoleum floor, and the ZZ works pretty well there, although it tends to spin out easier with the NOS motor than I like.

The moment I put the Micro down and tried my first turn I was spinning circles instead... it's nearly uncontrollable for me. It's a 27 Mhz and the range is also only about 6 feet on a full charge, which is really, really bad compared to my 49 Mhz ZZ. The charge only lasted about half the time of my ZZ as well, so I'm not overly impressed with the Bit Char or their clones. I picked it up for $23 total in the auction thoug, so I'm not out that much. I'm just glad I started with the ZZ because I had a positive experience with it that made me want to keep buying these things! :)

I'll try the different tires and such, but I have a feeling the Micro will just be for speed racing, unless I can find a floor somewhere with more traction to use with turning.

Cheers.

is it true micro or a clone they are good and the range is not the car its the frequncey (sp?) do the antenna mods! or did you get a $20 piece that cost 10 in walmart people need to use caution with ebay look to see if it is real

latency 10-16-2002 01:54 PM

.....

It's a Microsizer. No clone.

I agree about the controller

It's absolute kack! I tried out a MS at a local hobby shop today, and the quality of the controller is laughable compared to the ZZs. Although the rocker steering pads are a good idea they feel as if they will wear out within 2 weeks. The whip antenna is a bad idea too. Could be painful if placed in the wrong hands.

Hmm, interesting points Latency.

The MicroSizers definitly hav the edge on speed stock. My MS can run circles around my Zap straight out of the box. hehe and given the steering right out of the box this wouldn't be a difficult thing hehe. But after fiddling with the steering for awhile it is better. I have simply been adjusting the steering lever underneath. i do think now though I need to get a different set of tires for it. That would help on my slick kitchen floor.

The controller is actually easier for my big hands to use. I could do without the clicking though heh. The antenna is annoying having to wind it back in heh.

But I did find that the Zaps and the MS drive much differently. The controlling of the MS took a little getting used to. Could be because of the speed. I have yet to drop the turbo motor I have in my zap.

And I will agree that the run time is a bad thing. The Zap does run longer. But neither of them runs as long as my I-Racer hehe.

all in all I like all the cars I have. But they are different. I have friends who don't like the Zaps but love the MS and visa versa. Me I like em all :)

Yeah I agree... they're all pretty much the same hardness (the ribbed are a little harder... that sounded wrong) anyway they seem to work better in the front. And the stock or colored in the rear, usually medium, I've found to give the most controll. :D
