Software for bit modifications

Quick blurb: does anyone know of any software that can help in designing bit mods other than straight-up CAD software?

Depends what you would like to design?

I saw a webpage about someone using autocad to design a new body. After the design fase he just cut out triangles and used glue to paste them together.
