Range Problem

yea so i got an xmod that wont even go more than 5 feet. i have both the antenna on and the screw is tightened. i checked if the inductors were blown but they arnt. everything looks the same with my other skyline. but it just cant go as far as my other skyline. i need this car runnig soon because i have a race coming up. i check inside the controller if any wires were broken but nothing was wrong with it. so if anyone have any suggestions please tell me.

are you positive your inductors are blown? have you tried replacing your batts? in the controller and in the xmod. if those dont work you can always try doin the antenna mod, and stick a bigger antenna onto your controller

They may still be blown they do not have to be black or brown I've had this happen to me twice. They as most likely blown. Look to see if the soldier around the antenna mount and resistor is yellow. If it is or if it's scortched then most likely you need to replace both of them. Good luck.;)

For the price it is the best way to go... You won't find any resistors that are like those anywhere else so go with that... On two of my cars the steering wont turn very well so I'm thinking the steering FETs are fried... I gotta check it out... Can anyone help me? BTW the Range Repair Kit is like 5 bucks I think... Been a long time since I have been to www.atomicmods.com .....

again, post new topics instead of bumping old threads.

As for the range repair, you have to remove 2 inductors from the xmod circuit board and solder in the replacements.
