New micro rc?? Teaser thread
July 2004 issue of RC Car Action. Page 42. "XXAP Design Inc. Metal Tech Racers". After I stopped drooling on the magazine, I went to find out more. The xxap site makes it sound more like they might be called "Pocket Racer XS" instead.
They seem to be about the size of ZipZap, metal body, digital-propo steering and speed control, can run up to 8 together, interchangible bodies, plastic racing bodies, Lithium batteries, 30 min to 1 hour runtime... Sounds like 3 different chassis will be available: Sportscar, racecar, suv So far I've seen bodies for: a BMW, a VW (water) Beetle, an Audi TT, and a rumor of a Corvette. The magazine gave the wrong URL, it's really: http://www.xxap.com/ They seem to be pre-patent, so there really isn't anything else to go on. Don't seem to be for sale yet. No word I've seen on price. The video clip on the site makes it look like they should be pretty quick. (Maybe on par with dual-cell mosfet?) The propo throttle and steering look smooth. And they've got reverse. But it looks like these should be able to spank the pants off a ZZ-SE from a technical stand point!!! And probably spank any current micro rc on a very tight technical course! |

Any someone finally did something about the proportions on the body! Looks awsome |
Look great! They even are going to have Plastic racing bodies to save weight.
|
They won't be available till at least august , I got on their mailing list months ago when they were first anounced.
|
You knew about these already??? More info then!!! :D :D
How much estimated? Any ideas on other bodies? (I think I saw a Pontiac GTO or Grand Prix) What stuff have they announced? Where's the mailing list? Are they as wicked as they look? Anything? Why didn't you tell us about them? How can we manage to wait until August? </drool> |
I wonder how fast they'll be...
|
Use the contact button , and email the company and they will add you to the mailing list . prices and body options are not being released by the company yet. There was a another thread about this somewhere in the forum.
