Anybody built a drag/racing tree?
 

Basically, a small sequence of lights (LEDs) on a small tower on the track, that goes down from red to yellow to green, with a few seconds in between.

I was going to build one, but got to poking around and starting thinking about building in a false-start setup as well, since it wouldn't be too hard to integrate (I have seen them for pine derby setups so I wouldn't even have to map out the schematics myself since they are on the web).

Would something like this even be needed/liked?

I'll share what I end up doing, if anybody is curious.
