Tyres, Help! Need rubber Tyres.

Hey guys, I was at a toy fair the other day and spotted a couple of ROCO UniMogs! ha, perfect for my next TTTT project. I grabbed them both for $5 nzd! the only problem is, they have plastic tyres.

I was wondering if anyone has a set of 4 rubber offroad tyres for the Uni Mog I could buy? Killer?

Thanks,
Tim.

Hi Jimbob,
there is a ROCO spare kit "Tyres" availible. Inside youll find 2 kinds of rubber tyres. The smaller one is good for the unimog.

Another hint. Herpa sales "Offroad Truck wheels" in a small box. They comes out including rubber tyres, wheels and axles. This one also good for the ROCO unimog.

As the last way I suggess you: You can also make tyres by your own.
Take a plastic-tyre in a shape
cant some silicon-rubber inside the shape
So you have a negativ-shape of the tyre

Now you cant latx-rubber inside the shape. After some hours the latex is dry and you can take a wonderfull tyre out of the shape.
(The secret is: silicon and latex dont glue at each other)

Maybee the Roco or Herpa Sparekit is the easier way ;-)

best regards

Thorsten

Thanks Throsten. I might have a go at making my own tyres :)

i have lots of the very small lego tires that look like they would fit a slightly larger diameter wheel. they are rubber nad i'm sure teh lego tread pattern would be great for offroading.
they are the knobby ones on the far right..

not sure if this will help anyone, but i found some neet little rubber tires at both walmart and walgreens, they come on some offbrand hotwheels type toys, one was a 4 wheeler and the other was a pullback type truck, they might be a bit large but seem like they would be a nice starting point.
