Iwaver Mini-z???

A while ago i ordered a few bits from toyeast so they put me on their mailing list. When i was checking the latest one something interesting caught my eye: IWAVER MINI-Z (apearently a mini-z clone?).

http://www.toyeast.com/v2/proddetail...dtid=A02006060

I was just curious if anyone has one of these and can tell me how it compares to a xmod and/or mini-z. Hell for 25 bucks how could you go wrong?!?!

Shiporu 04-16-2004 06:15 PM

hey jam gunner, i will get it just to see if it lives up to it's name.
wanna buy them together?

jamgunner 04-16-2004 06:42 PM

I showed one of my friends and we just might buy some (might save a bit on shipping). I mean i remember paying 25 for a zip zap se, if these are even half the cars that i hear mini-z's are, I believe it is more than worth it. I probably would have bought one of these prior to my x-mod had i known they existed.

Read this thread on the Mini-Z site. It has allot of info regarding the Iwaver.

I have 5 Mini-Z's and plan on buying one of these clones for my girlfriends son. Looks worth the 25 dollar price too me.

but the IWaivers use the Kyosho molds they bought, have full propo, and ALL the MR01 hop ups should work.
the car follows the Mini Z MR01 design in many ways.
i hope Iwaiver makes an MR02!

I doubt they [bought] them from kyosho, likely a factory that was supose to produce them, was "fired" yet kept making them, or they found them dumpster diving.. not 100% the same as kyosho also, so they likely reproduced them from re-molding a store bought Mini_Z... they are still reproduction quality, and no more than that... as I said Xmod is actualy better.. falls apart less etc...

I just hope its not some child labor camp that produces them... or terrorist groups that benifit from it... (this is the case with more products than you would think).

hahahahaha

While all this may be true, wait until you attempt to order and find out that with shipping costs, you could buy a mini-z hahahahahahahaha ..... Toyeast and Dinball/rcmart are both known for this.

I am a Mini-Z fanatic and I highly endorse buying a Mini-Z over the Iwaver. However.....fair is fair. Although I have never purchased from toy east, I have purchased allot from dinball, and if their shipping costs are comparable, then it would still be cheaper than a Mini-Z to purchase. Frankly, only 1 time have I felt I paid more for shipping when buying from Hong Kong. That particular item I bought on ebay, and the shipping rate was a little high in my opinion. But buying direct has never been expensive on the shipping. It seems only fair to point out your false statement to those reading this forum, that are not familiar with this. OK I'm done.

well the I waver would be about 50$ when it said and done... you can usualy get a Used Z (wich would still be better then a new Iwaver) for 40-70...

You are correct Drac. But I was comparing Apples to Apples, meaning both being purchased new.

charliebrown 04-23-2004 04:04 PM

I have heard of these, I hear that they are fully propo, have good range, can use the same upgrades, etc etc. On Sunday, me and my dad made a deal and, taking money from my allowance, he ordered the Blue Skyline GT-R starter kit, the blue viper body, and the escalation motor. I just need some rechargeable AA batteries....Off to Walmart I go, for IC-3's! :D

And it would be like a gift from GOD if Iwaver made MR-02's for the same low price.....

theMonster 04-23-2004 08:00 PM

whatever

I'm basing the costs off of this. I went to order a 1/64 mini tank that cost $15....shipping was $50. I went to order a 1/10 Tamiya TB-02 for $129 shipping was $75......That was back at Xmas though, so maybe they were just anally reaming people for the holidays.

WOW.....No wonder you thought it was expensive. I'm only spending between 4 and 5 dollars for shipping. I did pay twenty for shipping on a ready set, but never 50 or 75. Unbelievable!!!!!!!
