At long last...I 've got an expandable and configurable track system for all those 1:64 scale micro rc cars ! Make that flyover, bridge or tunnel or replicate your favourite Formula One circuit! ModuTrack... Built for Speed! |
Greetings,
The little one and I like to race Microsizers and Zip Zaps. I watched the videos on your site and didn't like what I saw. You don't even have to drive the cars; the track does it for you. A little help: When making a raceway for such little cars with no proportional controls the lane widths should be no less than 20cm to have any fun. In other words, you should be able to endure an entire race without touching the walls (depending on your driving skills). It would be nearly impossible to race more than one car on your set. I think you have a nice design as far as modules go, but you should double the lane widths. |
Hi Builder: There are bend guides to allow the low-end non-proportional cars to move along. If you remove them, then it is not so simple - rest assured! I wanted to design something to allow the younger ones to play without getting frustrated.
Laps can still be done though with a bit of skill - see my Auldey video but you need to practise quite a bit to understand the track and car. Using the tracks with zipzaps se is probably the best experience you will have as they are proportional control. And yes...the widths can be doubled by joining two straight sections side by side with the middle walls removed. The system is versatile and allows you to keep adding new profiles such as cross junctions, angle bends etc. to your basic blocks. I hope you will change your mind about it. |
If that track is on sale for under $40, I'll take it. You're right about having something kids can drive on. The tracks I've built for myself are very technical and only a micro pro can manipulate it. My son and his friends get very frustrated. This would be ideal for them.

Stridex: You're a kind soul! Thanks for responding.

When will it be available? How soon can I get one?
|
They are available but there is a mimimum order quantity of 5,000 pieces imposed by the factory. Hence I'm trying to consolidate and find a retailer or distributor to absorb the bulk of it so that I can supply small volume orders with the balance. Hopefully, it would be soon. If you know anyone who would be interested to place orders for distribution, please let me know via e-mail. Thanks.
