hey i think i finally found a way to waterproof your electonics. first off silicone sucks. once you put a layer on the car it doesn't burn off so you can put more on or fix whatever you need to. and when water finds the little holes it has the water stays in and fries your electronics. i found a can of brake quieting spray in my garage and got to thinking, my dad uses this to stop corrosion on battery terminals i wonder if it will work... so i grabbed the can and ran like a bat out of hell to my "workshop" (a.k.a. my kingdom of electronics and fire) and started spraying one of my semi working set of electronics and let it dry. first off this stuff doesn't dry. it is sticky. it does dry a little though. i put some tape on the bottom fets so that they will still have contact with the heatsink and let it sit in water overnight with batteries on it and the electonics on. well the next day after detention i went home and put some fresh batteries in and the electronics still work. well... at least the motor. the steering is what was wrong with them. i cant wait until i get some new electonics. finally ill have an invincible xmod.

What you need:
electronics
tape ( used scotch tape electrical tape might be better)
CRC Disk Brake Quiet

What to do:
1. take the electronics to your "workshop" if you dont have one go outside.
2. spray the CRC Disk Brake Quiet on every part of the PCB BOARDS dont spray the wires. it is ok to spray the crystal plug as long as you spray over it and not into it.
3. let dry overnight, in morning it should be sticky.
4. put in XMOD and enjoy your water proof XMOD.

I'm not sure what I think about using that particular chemical on my electronics, though I have seen some waterproofing grease that is commonly used on automotive and boat electrical connections. I don't think you'd want it all over your board though, as it is probably supposed to be conductive.

it doesnt conduct electricity . my dad uses it over the terminal with the cables already attached to stop water/corrosion from happening. and i have tried the grease it collects rocks too easily and that stuff comes off too easily. the grease i used was called TruckLite grease. with the spary if you need to it wipes off with a rag.

UPDATE: well, both of my XMODS are up and running. so far ive driven them in puddles of water where the bottom two batteries are completely submerged, on wood (untreated&rotting), carpet, cement, dirt. and its still working. i would reccomend doing this if you drive on these surfaces

Driving it fully underwater would be a great test...

ok. im gonna try that sometime this weekend. too bad i gotta change some tires (when i say some i mean 8). the maintanence and slavery that comes with haveing a father that is a truck driver really sucks a$$. oh yeah and one steer axle tire. i come inside and fall up the stairs im so tired.

well at your request i tried it completely submerged, batteries and all and it doesn't work. yet. i got some more spraying to to. i think it may be the crystal. but it does resist frying the electronics. ive dunked it at least 10 times and it's still working. working normal that is. no loss in performance or anything like that. steering still works which was the big thing i needed to fix. im happy with the way it works now but im gonna keep working on it to try and make you guys happy.

i might have to try this, so that i can have some rain drift sessions in the parking lot of my apartments. ooh it's gonna be tight.

UPDATE: ok, you can submerge it,but it will keep going on whatever you were doing. ex. if you were going straight and hit the water the car would keep on going straight, but you would lose control of it. if you were turning and submerged it it would keep on turning while moving.
